Omnia Saed

Omnia is a writer and journalist from Washington, DC. She is focused on exploring the relationship between people and their environment, delving into how personal histories and identities intersect with the spaces we inhabit. A significant amount of her time is devoted to researching and writing about food and culture, and so she hopes to one day cook as well as she eats.

In what ways does nature inspire or inform your work?

Nature motivates me to better understand people. So much of our our stories, and our history, is spoken for and through the natural worlds we inhibit, through the relationships we’ve formed to land. It is a privilege to have the opportunity to learn about them and to discover the wonders they hold.

What does it mean to you to be part of a thriving ecosystem?

To be apart of a thriving ecosystem means that community is fostered through reciprocity, grace, and care.
