Elizaveta Porodina’s latest photobook, Found Dreams, explores beauty, fantasy, and nightmares through a five-chapter odyssey into the depths of the human subconscious. In her signature surrealist style and use of vivid color, she uses fashion photography to form new worlds where our relationships with nature and ourselves are reimagined.
Influenced by her background in clinical psychology, Porodina’s photographs dive into the dimensions of the human experience, particularly through the female lens, capturing archetypes of the mother, heroine, and warrior. Luminaries including Jessie Buckley, Paul Mescal, and Ariana Grande—the last of whom also wrote the book’s foreword—become subjects in Porodina’s otherworldly landscapes where artists, actors, and models are transformed into mythic figures suspended in moments of surreal beauty.
The book also features biophilic images previously commissioned for Atmos, including iridescent insects such as beetles and praying mantises alongside vibrant inflorescent flowers. The range of the series highlights Porodina’s ability to use the language of fashion photography to capture the enchantment of nature’s many life forms.
