As American democracy faces dark times, photographer Jonas Lindstroem offers a powerful visual metaphor for unity, peace, and the beauty of connection.

Jonas Lindstroem is a German director and photographer based between Berlin and London. His forward-thinking, boundary-pushing work often seeks to capture the cultural spirit of our time. For this project, shot for Atmos Volume 12: Pollinate, he set out to create a subtle yet powerful meditation on democracy, showcasing its beauty, fragility, and strength through the connection of people. Featuring a diverse cast of individuals dressed entirely in white, the visual becomes a living metaphor for a peaceful republic. These figures stand against the large scale of the Earth as a symbol of relationship and resilience, serving as a reminder of what binds us in an era of division. Through his unique visual language, Lindstroem’s work reflects the complexities of contemporary life.
