Born in Devon, England, London based photographer Nikki McClarron's work is an echo of her upbringing in nature. With her continued fascination with the natural world and human stories, she uses photography as a way to explore and learn about our planet through her camera, approaching her projects with a sensitivity and open heart to share the stories she encounters. Her work blends a mixture of documentary, fashion and still life.
WHAT WAYS DOES NATURE INSPIRE OR INFORM YOUR WORK?
Nature is the rhythm of everything, it’s captivating in its unpredictability and beautiful in it’s imperfections. Working with the elements I find very grounding and inspiring and try to filter it’s wild essence through my practice as a photographer.
WHAT DOES IT MEAN TO YOU TO BE PART OF A THRIVING ECOSYSTEM?
To be part of our thriving ecosystem is an honour, and it’s to be nurtured with a conscious effort to educate ourselves on the ever changing environments and history of it. It’s a collective collaboration and our responsibility as humans to work together for better harmony for the future.
