In what ways does nature inspire or inform your work?

My reporting tends to focus on culture in a very broad sense. I’m interested in the shared beliefs, values, traditions and forms of expression that bring groups of people together. These are almost always tied to a strong sense of place. We often forget that humans are part of nature, not separate from it, and that caring for the environment means taking care of each other and ourselves.

What does it mean to you to be part of a thriving ecosystem?

Being part of a thriving ecosystem means being mindful and aware of how everything is connected, and then acting in a way that facilitates those connections.
