Karen is the managing editor of Atmos. Born in Singapore, she came across secondhand copies of Smash Hits magazine at the age of nine and started dreaming of London. Hackney-based since 2000, she learned the craft of magazine making from Terry Jones at i-D, and later ventured into working for other magazines, brands, and agencies.

In what ways does nature inspire or inform your work?

It inspires me to do what I can to help tell stories that will move people to engage with the world we live in.

What does it mean to you to be part of a thriving ecosystem?

It means being thoughtful about how we go about our lives—as an individual, as a family and as a community.
