In what ways does nature inspire or inform your work?

Nature in its purity is the highest form of spiritual connection and I turn to it for balance, if I use nature as a mirror I’m learning, we are nature and we should not consider ourselves separate from it perpetuating exploitation and destruction of our own “home”. During the first years of my work my vision was more for beauty and cut from the image what could be disturbing and looked more for aesthetic collisions by color or shapes. Now in my personal work I am more interested in including this confrontation with what I understand by “real”, and not eliminating from the frame what is ultimately talking about the present moment.

What does it mean to you to be part of a thriving ecosystem?

Attention to everyday details. To leave the unconscious acts, more than ever it is necessary to “think high”. The strange thing is that a part of we ordinary citizens seem “crazy” desperate to recover a balance in nature and most of the power structures remains too attached to economic priorities and dates that seem too far to really start decreasing our impact in nature, when too much is at risk. Time to think differently and in the long term to really contribute to future generations. To live in consciousness and see the bigger picture.
