In what ways does nature inspire or inform your work?

It’s at the heart of my work. Sometimes it’s in obvious ways: when I write about mountain hiking, respect for nature is key. Otherwise how can we keep France’s wild places beautiful and thriving for the next person who comes along?

What does it mean to you to be part of a thriving ecosystem?

Practising what you preach, and accepting that when you have a platform, however small, you have responsibility. It means connecting with the places and communities that I report on, supporting small, sustainable projects and championing voices that would otherwise risk not being heard.
