Elizaveta Porodina is a Russian photographer based in Munich. Her work experiments with fashion and fine art imagery, blending time, space, and emotion into something cinematic and intimate. For this visual story, created for Atmos Volume 12: Pollinate, Porodina captured the inflorescence of flowers. She immersed herself in a nearly week long study of color, searching for the perfect emotional frequency that could showcase the beauty and depth of a flower’s life cycle: growth, pain, and rebirth. The result is a body of work that radiates love, light, and softness—a kind of quiet defiance and care that she hopes the audience feels through her photographs.

This story first appeared in Atmos Volume 12: Pollinate with the headline, “Inflorescence.”
In the natural world, nothing goes to waste. Matter constantly decomposes and reconstitutes in new shapes. Atmos Volume 10: Afterlife seeks to answer the question: what comes next?
