– Forest Frequencies | Journey through California’s Sequoia National Forest with a live performance by musical artist Dianna Lopez.
– Flora, Funga, and the Forest Between | Suzanne Simard and Giuliana Furci, moderated by Maria Popova, explore the interwoven worlds of plants, fungi, and the ecosystems they form through symbiosis.
–On The Front Lines | Excerpts from the powerful film YANUNI, followed by a conversation with Juma Xipaia, Richard Ladkani, and Dax Dasilva, moderated by Alice Aedy, offering insights into the film and the urgent fight to protect the Amazon and Indigenous lands.
– Helping Forests Walk | Robin Wall Kimmerer and Willow Defebaugh explore our relationship with forests and what it means to be in reciprocity with them—including how we can help them adapt to our changing planet.
– Advocacy & Action: Turning Science into Meaningful Change | Dr. Ticora V. Jones, chief science officer of NRDC, on science-driven solutions and the pathways toward meaningful environmental action.
Guests will also experience a site-specific exhibition by artist and photographer Elizaveta Porodina, as well as opportunities to connect with a community inspired by the natural world. Through conversation, art, music, and storytelling, Enchanted Forest invites audiences to explore forests not as resources, but as living networks of relationship, resilience, and renewal.
The evening will conclude with a cocktail reception in the beautiful Astor Hall.

There are forests that feel ancient beyond language, places where rivers become roads, where mist hangs in the canopy like memory, where the boundary between human and wild begins to dissolve. This journey through Costa Rica’s Caribbean rainforest and flooded forest ecosystems invites guests into two of the country’s most extraordinary wilderness lodges: Pacuare Lodge and Tortuga Lodge.
Beginning deep within the Pacuare Protected Zone, one of the most biodiverse rainforest corridors in Central America, guests journey by river into a world of primary tropical forest, Cabécar culture, waterfalls, and hidden jungle trails. The experience then continues north into the labyrinthine waterways and flooded forests of Tortuguero National Park, where wildlife moves through an enchanted wetland ecosystem of canals, mangroves, palms, and lowland rainforest.
