Based in London and trained initially as a set designer, then as a photographer, my work is a combination of playfulness and nostalgia. I fuse my two skills and passions to explore time and nature as collaborative partners.
My work often derives from meticulous research, sustained relationships, sense of place and history. I take great satisfaction living within the fiction I am creating.
In the last few years, I’ve been taking commissions as a set designer in London while continuing developing my own art practice.
In what ways does nature inspire or inform your work?
I use nature’s heartland for inspiration and ideas of experimentation.
I enjoy reintroducing the body to its land and creating imaginative portraits that embody humanity’s connection to nature and fauna.
Nature is undoubtedly the most powerful and exciting tool of expression so once you introduce the body to it, it naturally questions the essence of humanity.
What does it mean to you to be part of a thriving ecosystem?
Thank you…it is good to be reminded especially in a culture that teaches us to treat our bodies as machines. It means I’ve got not to forget to breathe deeply and slow down to appreciate it. I feel extremely lucky and grateful to be part of this ecosystem. I’m not sure what my role is, but if i can remind people through my photography that we re part of it, it can only be a good thing.
